Question

  • What is CBD?

CBD, short for "Cannabidiol", is one of the many naturally made chemicals found in the family of plants called "cannabis."  It is NOT a psychoactive chemical, meaning you do not get "high" from it.  Of late, it has skyrocketed in popularity as many people have found relief from a wide variety of ailments by consuming it.  THC, is also a naturally made chemical in the very same Cannabis plants, but this chemical IS psychoactive, and does get a person "high".  Within this cannabis family of plants, there are "hemp" plants and there are "marijuana" plants.  The difference between the two types is all about the CBD and THC content:  if a plant has a THC level under 0.3%, its called "hemp" and will not get the user high, but it will contain CBD.  If a plant has a THC level that is greater than 0.3%, its called "marijuana," and it WILL get you high.  BOTH plants have CBD in them.  This means you will get CBD benefits, but almost no THC, so you will not get "high."

CBD has become more and more visible of late, as people discover its uses for anxiety, pain, movement disorders, and help with cognitive function;  all this without the high from THC.  Though not approved by the FDA for these purposes yet, a drug called Epidolex (which contains CBD) HAS been approved by the FDA for specific epileptic seizures.  The response from so many users of CBD for other conditions has been very positive.  As a result,  CBD is now being studied by dozens of health organizations to scientifically assess its effectiveness and quantify is benefits for many conditions, including high blood pressure and anxiety.

CBD can be taken in to the body by smoking or inhaling vapor, capsules or liquid by mouth, or even in the form of an edible!  Our CBD is from organically grown plants that are tested twice for THC and CBD levels before harvesting.  We offer a variety of products containing CBD, and we hope you will appreciate that our plants are meticulously cared for and grown 100% organically.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.

CBD is closely related to another important medicinally active phytocannabinoid: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound that causes the high that cannabis is famous for. These are the two components of cannabis that have been most studied by scientists.

Both CBD and THC have significant therapeutic attributes. But unlike THC, CBD does not make a person feel “stoned” or intoxicated. That’s because CBD and THC act in different ways on different receptors in the brain and body.

CBD can actually lessen or neutralize the psychoactive effects of THC, depending on how much of each compound is consumed. Many people want the health benefits of cannabis without the high – or with less of a high.

The fact that CBD is therapeutically potent as well as non-intoxicating, and easy to take as a CBD oil, makes it an appealing treatment option for those who are cautious about trying cannabis for the first time.

  • What can CBD do for me?

CBD is increasing tremendously in popularity because people are finding relief by using it.   Though we cannot make any specific claims about what CBD Hemp products can do for you, we would simply say that customers are using our products for things such as:  Anxiety, Cancer, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Arthritis, Insomnia and Migraines, among others.  While CBD doesn’t help everyone with their condition, there are many that believe it does help.   For more assurance, consult your doctor or medical practitioner for help.

  • How long does it take for CBD to work?

It usually takes about 30 minutes for the right amount of CBD to become effective. Unlike Marijuana, CBD has no psychoactive effect, so most people don’t know that it is doing anything until they realize that any pain they may have had is no longer there or not as severe.

  • Is CBD Legal? *

Even though hemp contains virtually no THC, the answer to this question, is not simple. As of 2019, CBD derived from hemp is legal nationwide at the federal level. This includes all hemp-derived CBD products like oils, edibles, and salves and creams. However, some states have laws on CBD from hemp that are restrictive.

  • 2014 and 2018 Farm Bill

The 2014 Farm Bill opened up new doors for the hemp industry by legalizing some cultivation activities that have since allowed the industry to grow in unprecedented ways. Following the success of various pilot programs made possible by the 2014 Farm Bill, hemp is now widely accepted by the public and most lawmakers. In 2018, the US Senate introduced The Hemp Farming Act in its version of the 2018 Farm Bill. Among other things, the act sought to make hemp an agricultural commodity, give states the power to oversee hemp production, and take away the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) authority over hemp. The 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law in December 2018, effectively legalizing hemp at the federal level by removing it from the federal list of controlled substances and classifying it as an agricultural commodity.
